OUR VISION
Alleviation of poverty with a focus of Skill Development, Entrepreneurship and Financial Inclusion
OUR MISSION
To work for women empowerment and alleviate poverty through skill development trainings and income generation programs for the holistic development of underprivileged people. To provide skill enhancement trainings to destitute women, widows and differently abled people. To provide healthcare facilities, health awareness programs, livelihood programs especially for leprosy patients for betterment in their life. To stimulate growth and awareness in education. To improve access of government loans and subsidies.
Empowering women to be financially independent is our special focus. We have formed SHGs, Joint Liability Groups, and Income Initiative Group to help women avail loans through the groups. With the loan amount received many women start their domestic business, agricultural activities, and petty shops. Meetings are conducted on regular basis for women, and important people from apex organizations educate them on bank processes, setting up business, legal requirements, and other necessary information that are necessary for their growth and development.
There are so many people with leprosy living in poverty and shame in Dharmapuri district. We identify them with the help of local government hospitals and provide them with necessary medical care. Out of 200 people whom we have identified, 118 people are completely cured and are supported to start their business. We have even formed a Self-help group for leprosy-affected people, so that they can avail loans and sustain their livelihood.
As a part of livelihood enhancement initiative, and under Valedictory and MEDP Training and Micro Entrepreneurs’ Development Programme, we provide beautician course, agarbathi making, packing, and marketing to the groups that don't find proper livelihood opportunity. This training has helped many people to start their business and they are further helped in acquiring loan and other facilities to establish their business.
Skill development training centre is equipped with coir and coir mat making machinaries. SHG and JLG members can train themselves with the help of our trainer head in coir and mat making. If they need a specific skill set (for a group of people), our DEEPAM society will hire a trainer on the skill and will make our SHG members skilled on the specific skill set. Later, they can get Small scale loans through our banking partners for their start ups and they will repay the loans with the profit they make through their start up.
